We disembarked the cruise ship at Piraeus in Athens and took a taxi to our hotel, the Athens Gate. We had lunch in a traditional Greek taverna that Kory found on the internet. We spent most of the day relaxing and recuperating from the non-stop activity of the cruise. We had dinner on the rooftop of a cool little cafe near the Acropolis. The food in Athens was fantastic — I’m definitely gaining weight! I’ve never had better olives and the Greek salad was perfect.
