We hopped on a high-speed catamaran which took us from Split to the island of Korcula. We are staying in a private apartment called Villa Sokul. It is in the small village of Lumbardo. The apartment is quite cozy with a large balcony overlooking a beautiful little bay. The owner greeted us with wine and cheese and I instantly knew I would like Korcula. As we got in quite late, we went straight to dinner at a nearby restaurant that is quite upscale for Korcula. Our table was an arm’s-reach away from the water. I had prawns and Kory had a plate of mixed sea-food. Croatian restaurants all offer house wine which is very good wine that comes in a pitcher and is quite cheap. It is different from anything that I have done in the United States and is very pleasant and fun. Our waiter’s cute little daughter sold us a little Lumbardo fisherman (see picture below).
