Day 8 (June 15): Mykonos, Greece

Our first glimpse of Mykonos from the ship was breathtaking. The buildings are all painted white with little pops of bright color. It is very charming and beautiful. We had a fantastic time on the island. We started out a little overwhelmed by the tiny, narrow, winding streets but got a little more oriented after we hiked to the top of a little summit to get an overview of the town. We rented an ATV and cruised around for a bit — including an unintentional tour right through the winding streets of the town almost knocking down merchandise and tourists in the tiny narrow streets. We almost ended up getting the ATV stuck. Ultimately we got told to turn around and made our way back to the main road. Mid-day we went back to the ship for some water sports. We swam from the ship’s marina and had a fun ride around on the wave runners. Kory went wake boarding as I watched from the speeding boat. It was fun to see him wake-board right out of the ship and then to see him tearing it up with the island of Mykonos in the background. After our water fun, we went back to shore again and took the ATV to the very top of the island. There was a little light house up there and the steep climb was well worth the view. We had the top of the island practically to ourselves and the view was unbeatable. After our ATV adventure, we had dinner in Mykonos before heading back to the ship for post-dinner cocktails at the top of the yacht bar.
